This is a project I made for my American Literature II class. It was partially inspired by the novel The Awakening by Kate Chopin, but for the most part there were other influences at work.
The basic story is nothing new. A broken heart and feelings of loss. Not being able to see or think straight due to depression. Typical student film, if you think about it.
I used the Boingo song "Can't See (Useless)" to make a sort of musical narrative. I used the footage I shot at 6 frames per second on Super 16mm back in July 2006 combined with digital video I shot with my good friend Tony Ontiveros on the last day of November 2006. Somehow it all fit together.
